After I made my Baby Boy Blue Blanket, I began thinking about what other things I’d like to make for my baby if it turns out we’re having a boy. And since I want to have a baby set ready for either boy or girl, I thought my next pattern should be a baby boy hat.
So I went to work trying to figure out the best pattern. I ended up making a hat and then realizing that it was exactly, stitch for stitch, the same as a hat I had seen online a long time ago. So I had to go back to the old drawing board.
This has been very common of an occurrence for me since I began designing patterns. Lots and lots and LOTS of frogging! That’s when I found the perfect stitch for the Baby Boy Blue Beanie: the crossed double crochet stitch. It is very simple, but gives a beautiful texture.
So enjoy this adorable baby boy hat and stay tuned for the Baby Boy Blue Booties coming soon!
