My sweet husband has been so patient with me. For over a year now, he has wanted me to crochet him this hat. He wanted the ribbed look and for it to fold up at the bottom. So, here I am, 13 months later actually making his hat!

Men’s crochet isn’t usually something I do, simply because I have more girls in my life to crochet for. My mom is a knitter and makes plenty of hats and mittens and scarves for my brothers, so they are covered. But my girls, I like giving them beautiful crocheted items.

This men’s hat is so wonderfully warm and comfortable! I love Lion Brand’s Woolspun Yarn. (Unfortunately, this yarn has been discontinued, but here is a list of substitutes.)And once you get a couple skeins, make this hat! I’m sure there is at least one man in your life who will love it!

Hi, I’m wondering about sewing up the top. It seems like after row 44, slip stitch 1 to 44, it will be like a cylinder. How do you recommend sewing the top? Thanks!

I just gathered it at the top and sewed it closed in an “X” pattern. Then I turn it inside out, so the sewing is on the inside.
