Growing up, we had tons of different types of ornaments on our Christmas tree. Some of my favorites were the ones my Grandma made for us. This is just one of the many different kinds she made.
The Granny Stocking Ornament is made using granny stitches. It is basically a granny square folded in half to make a stocking. Simple, right? And it’s super cute, too!

Materials:
Red, White, and Green medium weight yarn (I used Hobby Lobby’s I Love This Yarn!)
Yarn Needle for sewing in ends

Stitches:
ch – chain
dc – double crochet
sc – single crochet
sl st – slip stitch
Pattern:
Begin with red yarn
ch 5,
Round 1: sl st into first chain to make loop, ch 3, 2dc, ch 2, *3dc, ch 2* 5 times, sl st into top of ch 3 to join. Cut yarn and sew in ends.
Round 2: Connect green yarn in ch 2 space, (ch 3, 2dc, ch 2, 3dc) in space where yarn was connected, ch 1, *3dc, ch 2, 3dc, ch 1* in each ch 2 space from previous round. Sl st at top of ch 3 to join. Cut yarn and sew in ends.
Round 3: Connect white yarn in ch 1 space, *ch 3, 2dc, ch 1* in same space where yarn was connected, *(3dc, ch 1, 3dc, ch 1) in next space, (3dc, ch 1) in next space* around. Sl st at top of ch 3 to join. Cut yarn and sew in ends.
Round 4: Connect green yarn in ch 1 space between two 3dc clusters in previous round. Ch 1, sc 24. Fold stocking in half as seen below. ch 12, sc sides together down and across as seen below.
Finish off and sew in ends.
