Simple & Sweet Sun Hat

Simple is my thing. If it isn’t simple, I’m probably going to just throw it out the window, because, to be honest, I will usually find it a waste of my time. I mean, who wants to spend countless hours accomplishing basically nothing? Not this girl!

Now, when we got to Montana, we quickly noticed how hot the sun was. We are almost 2,000 feet above sea level, so I guess that is to be expected. My toddler is super pale and burns easily, so I just knew she needed a hat, and fast! Thus the Simple & Sweet Sun Hat was born!

This hat is so simple, I just can’t stress it enough. It uses only double and single crochet for stitches. Although it does do color changes, once you learn this super simple technique for color changing in a round, you won’t feel like it’s hard at all!

I decided to use Hobby Lobby’s I Love this Cotton! for this hat, because it is such a soft cotton yarn. That makes it super durable, but also very comfortable to wear.

Once my big girl and my mom saw the hat, they each insisted on having one, too. Now, you know what that means: I better design this hat for all sizes! So, after slaving away with my math, I’ve designed it in sizes ranging from 3 months old to women’s. Enjoy!
