Hey there, crochet friend!

A couple months ago, I was given an opportunity by Love Crafts to design a pattern and review one of their yarns. This was HUGE for me! I can’t tell you how excited I was when I got that e-mail.

Now, until this happened, I have never tried Paintbox yarn. And, to tell you the truth, that is pretty unfortunate, because I really enjoyed working with it!

I decided to put things into a few categories, so you will easily be able to understand what I did and did not like and why. I will also be giving a star rating at the end of this review.

The best part of this, though, is that I was given more yarn than I needed for my project. This means I get to do a GIVEAWAY!!!!! YAAAAY!!!!

*Update: Giveaway is no longer running. Congratulations to our winner, Kathy D!

Yarn Review: Paintbox Cotton DK YArn

Color Options:

There are so many color options for Paintbox yarn. It made it so easy to find the exact colors I wanted to use! 5 stars!

Feel of Yarn:

Even though this yarn is cotton, it remains soft to the touch and very pleasant. As a person with hand eczema, I get pretty picky about the texture of my yarn. This yarn didn’t dry out my hands at all and wasn’t rough.

That being said, I did notice little sections where the yarn was hard. I’m guessing it must have been from some kind of adhesive. It was definitely rare, but thought I should mention what I noticed. 4 stars!

Quality:

This yarn is very good quality! It never split or tore as I was crocheting and pulling at it. Like I said above, the feel is so soft and pleasant. 5 stars

Affordability:

This yarn is a good deal for the quality in yarn. When not on sale, they cost $3.00 for a 50g skein. Though I wouldn’t normally spend that much for that little of yarn, I definitely underestimated how much I was actually getting, because I so rarely use DK weight yarn. It really is more than I thought. 5 stars.

Shipping:

Since Love Crafts is an online shop, you do have to pay shipping for any order under $60. The shipping is very reasonable, though, and got to me quicker than what I expected. 4 stars

Paintbox DK Cotton Yarn = 5 Stars!

I highly recommend you try this yarn! It was so fun to work with, and I know I will be ordering more Paintbox yarns soon!

Happy Crocheting!!
