Quick Fuzzy Baby Blanket

Hi crochet friend!

I have a new cute and cozy pattern for you today! This quick and fuzzy baby blanket was a gift I made for a very dear friend who is having her first baby.

Weeks ago, my friend and I were talking about her nursery. Since she is having a girl, she thought it’d be nice to have cream and pink throughout the room. I loved this idea!

So when I was walking through Walmart, I came across this beautiful super chunky yarn in the exact colors she had told me she was using for her nursery! Well, I had to buy it!

The yarn is Bernat Baby Blanket by Yarnspirations in Raspberry Kisses. I love how soft it is and how quickly it works up! This blanket took me less than 5 hours to complete! Perfect for a last minute handmade gift.

Free beginner crochet baby blanket that can be made in about 5 hours or less. Perfect gift for baby shower to make with little time, or even the next day.

Scroll down to get the pattern, and until next time, Happy Crocheting!

Materials:

2 skeins (about 400 yards) Bernat Baby Blanket in Raspberry Kisses (or other color)

11.5 mm (P) crochet hook

Darning needle for sewing in ends

Stitches:

ch – chain

dcfch – double crochet foundation chain

dc – double crochet

st(s) – stitch(es)

Gauge:

5 dc x 2 rows = 3×3 inch square

Blanket Size: 33 inches x 35 inches

Pattern Notes:

  • Chain 3 at the beginning of each row will always count as a double crochet.
  • I highly recommend using the double crochet foundation chain rather than a starting chain with double crochets worked into it, though either way will work fine.

Pattern:

Row 1: Make a foundation chain of 43 double crochets (or chain 45, dc in 4th ch from hook and every ch across), turn.

Rows 2-33: ch 3, dc in next st and every st across, turn.

Finish off and sew in ends.

And that’s all! Enjoy your beautiful baby blanket!
