Free Little Bean Baby Cardigan Crochet Pattern

Hi crochet friend!

I have been so excited for today for a long time! Today is the day that I release my beautiful Little Bean Baby Cardigan pattern! YAY!!

This pattern is so beautiful. I’m really proud of how it turned out, to tell you the truth. And it is a great match to my Little Bean Baby Bonnet pattern, because they both use this adorable bean stitch pattern, which is super simple, but oh, so pretty!

The free crochet pattern is available for the 0-3 month version of this sweater, but if you’d like to make it for 3-6 month, 6-12 month, 12-18 month, or 18-24 month, you can get the PDF version for a small price in my shop.

The yarn I decided to use for this pattern is Baby Bee Sweet Delight in Pink-a-boo. It is a nice DK size yarn perfect for baby sweaters and bonnets.

So I hope you enjoy this pattern, and please let me know if you’ve made this sweater in the comments!

Happy Crocheting!

Pattern Notes:

  • This pattern is written for size 0-3 months.
  • Pay attention to the gauge, because it is very important for the proper fit.
    • My crochet stitches tend to be tighter than most, so you may want to go up a hook size.
    • The brand of yarn can also result in a different gauge.
      • Use yarnsub.com to find the best substitute for yarn used in pattern.
  • Ch 1 DOES NOT count as stitch at beginning of row, but DOES count as stitch when used after sc or bean stitch.
  • Ch 2 will NEVER count as a stitch.
  • Use the following guide for how the number of stitches is communicated:
    • The number before the stitch is the amount of times worked in one stitch
    • The number after the stitch is the number of stitches you are to work that specific stitch into.
    • When stitches are surrounded by asterisks (*), you are to repeat what is between the asterisks the amount of times stated.
    • Number in parentheses is the number of stitches in each round.
    • Eg. “ch 1, sc 2, ch 1, sk 1, *sc 2, ch 1, sk 1* 21 times, sc in last 2 sts, turn. (68)” means “chain 1, single crochet once in each of the next 2 stitches, chain 1, skip the next stitch, repeat from first “single crochet 2” 21 times, single crochet in the last 2 stitches, turn work (there are 68 stitches in this row)”
