My life is pretty baby focused lately, so it shouldn’t be surprising that I keep making baby hats and booties. So here is another hat and booties set that I know you’ll love!
The Berries & Cream Baby Hat and Booties are very simple and easy. I loosely based the hat pattern off of my Women’s Flower Accent Hat from earlier this year. And the booties had been a pattern stuck in the back of my mind for a very long time. This finally gave me the push to make them!

1 skein Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice Yarn in Lilac
1 skein Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice Yarn in Pink Grapefruit
1 skein Hobby Lobby’s I Love This Yarn! in Ivory
5 mm (H) crochet hook for hat and flower on hat
3.75 mm (F) Crochet Hook for booties
3.25 mm (D) Crochet Hook

Stitches:
Magic Circle
ch – chain
sc – single crochet
hdc – half double crochet
dc – double crochet
hdc2tog – half double crochet two together
dc2tog – double crochet two together
sl st – slip stitch
Gauge:
For Hat: 3 double crochets by 2 rows = 1 inch
For Booties: 5 single crochets by 5 rows = 1 inch
Hat Patterns – 5 mm (H) crochet hook:
Notes: Start with Lilac color and change to Ivory after row 2, continue color changes every 2 rows.
eg. 1-2 will be in Lilac, 3-4 will be Ivory, 5-6 will be in Lilac, etc.
To change colors, pull hook out of loops. 1. Insert into next stitch, then into loop. 2-3. Pull new colored yarn through both loops to join.
Newborn – 3 months
Round 1: Make a Magic Circle and ch 2, dc 11 into magic circle, sl st to join. (11)
Round 2: ch 2, 2dc in each stitch around, sl st to join. (22)
Round 3: ch 2, *2dc, dc* around, sl st to join. (33)
