Hi crochet friend!
Uffda! This newest design took me awhile! I don’t know why, but I just couldn’t seem to get the look I wanted for these adorable Rainbow booties!
Thankfully, after 4 failed attempts, I got it. I was determined! So after realizing what I had to do to avoid the flat look, my beautiful Rainbow Baby Booties have turned out just the way I wanted them.
And I’ll be honest here…these booties really make me wish I had a newborn to put them on! I guess my 1 month old niece will just have to do.
These booties come in 0-3 month, 3-6 month, and 6-12 month sizes. And they can easily be adapted for 12-18 month babies by simply going up a hook size for the 6-12 month pattern. Talk about awesome, right?
So, please enjoy these beautiful little shoes. And don’t forget to make a baby snuggle blanket to match! And maybe a unicorn, too. ;)

Gauge:
5 sc x 5 rows = 1 inch square
Sizes (based on length):
0-3 months – 3 ½ inches
3-6 months – 3 ¾ inches
6-12 months – 4 ½ inches
Pattern Notes:
- Ch 1 never equals a stitch, but is ALWAYS a starting chain.
- There is no “turning” in the pattern. All rows will be worked in the same direction.
- I highly recommend the seamless color changing method for whenever you switch colors. This technique can be found by clicking here.
- There is no separate pattern for left and right shoes. They are the same, because they easily stretch to properly fit both feet.
- There are 3 sizes for this pattern. If you’d like a 12-18 month size, consider going up a hook size to achieve this. The length should be 4 ¾ inches for 12-18 months.
- Follow the following guide for how the number of stitches is communicated:
- The number before the stitch is the amount of times worked in one stitch
- The number after the stitch is the number of stitches you are to work that specific stitch into.
- When stitches are surrounded by asterisks (*), you are to repeat what is between the asterisks the amount of times stated.
- Number in parentheses is the number of stitches in each round.
- Eg. “*2sc, sc 4* 6 times (36)” means “2 single crochets in the first stitch, single crochet once in the next 4 stitches. Repeat this pattern 6 times. (There are 36 stitches in this round.)
