Hi crochet friend!
Today is bittersweet, because it is the day that I release the final pattern in my Rainbow Nursery Series. The adorable Rainbow Baby Hat is the perfect addition to the booties, blanket, and unicorn from this past month.
There are two ways for a baby to wear this hat. You can either have the brim up like a sunhat, or down like a regular beanie. Either way, it looks adorable!
Just like the Rainbow Booties, this pattern comes in 3 sizes: 0-3 months, 3-6 months, and 6-12 months. They are so cute when paired together!
This little series was so much fun to make! I hope you enjoy(ed) it as much as I did! Don’t forget to share your products made from my patterns on social media with the hashtag #cuteandcozycrochet . I love seeing what my followers and make friends make!
Happy Crocheting!

6-12 month : 5 inches diameter, 6 1/4 inches long
Pattern Notes:
- Ch 1 does NOT count as a stitch.
- Ch 3 will ALWAYS count as a double crochet.
- Whenever joining rounds, slip stitch into the 3rd chain of the Ch 3, because Ch 3 is the first stitch of the round.
- The final round of the hat will be done using cluster stitches. These clusters are 5 double crochets in one stitch. This round will also fan out to create a brim for the hat.
- If you do not want the hat to have an external brim, simply omit the last round of double crochets and replace with final round (cluster stitches round).
- Follow the following guide for how the number of stitches is communicated:
- The number before the stitch is the amount of times worked in one stitch
- The number after the stitch is the number of stitches you are to work that specific stitch into.
- When stitches are surrounded by asterisks (*), you are to repeat what is between the asterisks the amount of times stated.
- Number in parentheses is the number of stitches in each round.
- Eg. “*2sc, sc 4* 6 times, sl st to join. (36)” means “2 single crochets in the first stitch, single crochet once in the next 4 stitches. Repeat this pattern 6 times, slip stitch in first stitch of round to join. (There are 36 stitches in this round.)”
