Hi crochet friend!
It’s been awhile since I’ve posted an amigurumi pattern, so today is the day! Meet my sweet baby bear: Bart the Bear.
Bart is based off of a design from 3 years ago called Freddy the Teddy. I’ve always loved Freddy, and he’s very special to me, but I thought it would be fun to make something that is quick and easy and can fit in a stocking!
So my sweet baby Bart the Bear was born! He fits perfectly in a stocking, and has a nice little scarf to keep him warm in the cold. Plus, my sweet little boy absolutely loves him, and shows him off to everybody!
Enjoy this adorable little guy! He’s just too cute to pass up!
Happy Crocheting!

Pattern Notes:
- The bear itself will be worked in continuous rounds. Do not slip stitch closed at the end of each round, but instead put a stitch marker in the last stitch or each round, so you don’t lose your stitch count.
- Make sure the toes are facing forward when you stitch them together. This is why row 11 has a few extra stitches. It is to accommodate this look.
- Ch 1 never equals a stitch, but is only a turning chain.
- Eyes, Nose, and Ears can be put wherever the crocheter desires, but there are suggestions within the pattern for where to put them.
- All colors can be switched out, so it is very easy to personalize this pattern.
- It’s important to count the rounds, so a row counter is highly recommended.
- Follow the following guide for how the number of stitches is communicated:
- The number before the stitch is the amount of times worked in one stitch
- The number after the stitch is the number of stitches you are to work that specific stitch into.
- When stitches are surrounded by asterisks (*), you are to repeat what is between the asterisks the amount of times stated.
- When a series of stitches are surrounded by brackets { }, the series of stitches in the brackets are all worked into one stitch.
- Number in parentheses is the number of stitches in each round.
- Eg. “*2sc, sc 4* 6 times (36)” means “2 single crochets in first stitches, single crochet once in next 4 stitches. Repeat this pattern 6 times. (There are 36 stitches in this round.)
