Today, I am SO EXCITED to share with you my favorite pattern I have ever designed: the Fall Pumpkin Pullover!
Fall is by far my favorite season. I love the leaves, pumpkins, decorations, and, best of all, sweater weather! This is why I decided to design a baby sweater for the Fall Into Autumn Blog Hop put on by RaeLynn from Itchin’ for Some Stitchin’ and Sarah from Ned & Mimi.
I’ve always wanted to design a top-down pullover sweater for a baby, so this seemed like the perfect time! Who doesn’t love a cute and cozy pullover for Fall?
The pumpkin was a fun addition, as I feel it gives it just the right Autumn look. What do you think? Cute, or what?!
The yarn that I was able to use was provided by WeCrochet Yarn. I was curious to try some nice wool DK yarn, so I settled on Swish DK, which is 100% Fine Superwash Merino Wool. And I wasn’t disappointed!
If you’ve never used WeCrochet yarn, I sincerely recommend them! Swish DK yarn is 100% wool, but SOOOO SOFT! I have always struggled with finding a soft wool yarn that didn’t have an acrylic mix to it, but then I tried this for the Fall Pumpkin Pullover. I’ve gotta say, I will definitely be using it again!
Though this yarn is on the pricier side as far as what I usually spend, the quality is very good, so I don’t mind that little extra cost. And I can tell that it will last a long time.
And the stitches seemed to glide pretty well through the yarn, too, which is always a plus for me, since I frog things A LOT before finally getting things right. After frogging a ton, though, the yarn did start to unravel slightly. This did not cause it to break, however.
