Hi crochet friend!
A couple years ago, I posted this adorable Little Bean Baby Bonnet crochet pattern. Well, I loved that so much that I decided it needed a matching sweater, which I named the Little Bean Baby Cardigan. And that one was super popular! So today, I am sharing the final pattern in the baby set: the Little Bean Baby Booties.
These baby booties come in sizes 0-3 month, 3-6 month, 6-9 month, 9-12 month, and 12-18 month. And they really are very easy to make! They were kind of a spur of the moment design after taking about 2 months off from designing in my first trimester.
I get pretty sick and extremely fatigued during my first trimester, and baby number 6 was worst of all! So now that I’m in my second trimester and sickness have left our home (for now), I’m back at my designing with LOTS of design ideas in the works!
Anyway, back to the pattern at hand: The Little Bean Baby Booties use light weight yarn. I used Baby Bee Sweet Delight in Pink-a-Boo. I love that it is a soft acrylic that is super easy to work with. You can get this yarn at Hobby Lobby, and there are so many colors to choose from if you’re not much into pink.
I LOVE THIS YARN! I’ve used it for many patterns such as my Mommy-Time Blanket, the Sweet Stripes Baby Beanie, and the Penguin Pullover. And, of course, both the Little Bean Baby Bonnet and the Little Bean Baby Cardigan were made using Baby Bee Sweet Delight. My only complaint would be the “yarn vomit” you can get when you first start. They really should find a way for that not to happen…
This pattern also incorporate the Bean Stitch. You can find a tutorial for this stitch here.
The Little Bean Baby Booties Pattern, though free here on my blog, is also available as an easy to read, ad-free PDF. This PDF has photo tutorials within it, and gives you the convenience of not be tethered to your phone, tablet, or computer just to complete a pattern. Get the PDF in my Etsy or Ravelry shops!
You can also buy the whole Little Bean Baby Set Pattern Bundle in my Etsy shop. It includes the Little Bean Baby Booties, the Little Bean Baby Bonnet, and the Little Bean Baby Cardigan. It takes all 3 PDFs, puts them together, and gives you a discount for buying them all together. Get that here!

Pattern Notes:
- This pattern is written for sizes 0-3 months, 3-6 months, 6-9 months, 9-12 months, and 12-18 months.
- Pay attention to the gauge, because it is very important for the proper fit.
- My crochet stitches tend to be tighter than most, so you may end up going up a hook size.
- The brand of yarn can also result in a different gauge.
- Use yarnsub.com to find the best substitute for yarn used in pattern.
- The body of the booties is started by working through the back loop and the back bump of the half double crochet from round 3. This will make it more secure than just going through the back loop.
- Use the following guide for how the number of stitches is communicated:
- The number before the stitch is the amount of times worked in one stitch
- The number after the stitch is the number of stitches you are to work that specific stitch into.
- Ch 2 will NEVER count as a stitch
- Ch 1 will NEVER count as a stitch.
- When stitches are surrounded by asterisks (*), you are to repeat what is between the asterisks the amount of times stated.
- Number in parentheses is the number of stitches in each round.
- Eg. ch 1, sc 12, sc2tog, hdc2tog 2, dc2tog 2, hdc2tog 2, sc2tog, sc 12, sl st to join. (32) means “chain 1, single crochet in same stitch and once in each of the next 12 stitches, single crochet the next 2 stitches together, half double crochet the next 2 stitches together, half double crochet the next 2 stitches together, double crochet the next 2 stitches together, double crochet the next 2 stitches together, half double crochet the next 2 stitches together, half double crochet the next 2 stitches together, single crochet the next 2 stitches together, single crochet in the next 12 stitches, slip stitch into the first stitch to join. (there are 32 stitches in this round)”
